About KLE MTA
The Department of MTA was established in the year 2000-2001 with 2 year PG in Tourism course. Our college is one of the first few colleges to introduce PG in Tourism program affiliated to Bangalore University.
In recognition of our academic progress and the good placement record of our students, the Department of Tourism, Govt. of Karnataka selected our prestigious institution to start the Five Year Integrated MTA Course in the year 2007. We are proud to say that our college is one among the five colleges selected by the DOT (Department of Tourism) in the entire state of Karnataka and the only one in Bangalore city to run this Five Year Integrated MTA Course.
The Bachelor of Commerce in Tourism and Travel Management, an undergraduate degree in commerce with a specialization in travel, tourism, and aviation industry was started in 2013-2014 This program is an intensive and comprehensive program spread over three years. With a strong foundation in commerce studies, the dynamic curriculum design prepares the students to adapt to the demands and face the challenges of today’s tourism and travel industry.
At present, the department runs Two year Post Graduate Master of Tourism Administration (PG-MTA), Five Year Integrated Master of Tourism Administration (MTA), Three Years Bachelor of Commerce with Tourism & Travel Management (B Com -Tourism), and Three Years Bachelor of Tourism Administration (BTA) course for those students desiring to take the exit after 3 years of 5-year Integrated MTA course.
All these Programs equip the students with the skills of a Business School Graduate and additional skills relevant to the travel, tourism, aviation, and hospitality industries. The broad objective of these courses is to impart to the student's professional education and training in various aspects of tourism & its environment thus provide the opportunities to develop managerial, analytical, conceptual, problem-solving, and public relation skills in order to meet the challenges of tourism at the national and global level. The aim is also to enable them to harness the rich tourism potential both in indigenous and international arenas.
The Department is well equipped with a Hi-Tech computer lab spacious e-class rooms, and advanced teaching aids, well qualified & experienced faculty. Personal attention and counseling are given to the students for their overall development. Over the years we have secured cent percent results and secured 30 ranks.
